The very first contemporary ceremony "Kummargii Yulendji Gadabah" (together we rise up with knowledge) was held at St Kilda Festival this year (2024). Douglas & Mackay in close collaboration with Boon Wurrung Elder N’arweet Prof. Carolyn Briggs co-created a sunset celebration of Boon Wurrung culture. There were so many beautiful moments, people, dancers, performers and images, it's impossible to include everything. Here are some photos to try and tell the story of this inaugural ceremony that unfolded against the stunning sunset over the foreshore.
